BMW / Supra tuning support

BMW DME Bench Unlock

A one-time bench service that removes supported factory flashing protection so compatible tuning platforms can flash the DME through the OBD port.

DME / DDE Unlock

Why is a bench unlock needed?

Many BMW DMEs can normally be flashed through the diagnostic port, but certain software updates and later protection levels prevent OBD tuning until the DME is unlocked on the bench. The unlock changes the access condition; it does not create the tune itself.

Post-06/2020: support depends on the exact DME and software level. We confirm compatibility before you remove or ship the unit.

What the service is for

  • Preparing a supported BMW DME for BM3, MHD or another compatible OBD flashing workflow
  • Restoring tuning access after factory software protection
  • Bench processing of supported F- and G-series engine computers
  • Selected Toyota Supra applications that use BMW powertrain electronics

How it works

Send us the vehicle year/model and, ideally, a clear photo of the DME label or current identification readout. We confirm the correct method. The DME is then processed on the bench and returned ready for the compatible OBD flashing workflow.

Before you book

Do not assume every post-06/2020 DME uses the same unlock path. Hardware family, production date and software version matter. If you are a tuning shop, send the identification details first.

FAQ

Does the unlock include a tune?

No. The unlock prepares the DME for compatible flashing. The tune/license is separate unless specifically quoted.

Do you need to open the DME?

Not necessarily. The required method depends on the ECU family and software protection. We use the least-invasive supported method for the application.

Can you do post-06/2020 units?

We support selected later protected BMW applications. Send the DME identification first so we can confirm the exact service path.
