BMW DME / DDE Cloning

Transfer critical program and vehicle-specific data from a failing engine computer to a compatible replacement module.

DME / DDE Cloning

What DME/DDE cloning means

Cloning creates a functional copy of the original engine computer’s relevant program and data in a compatible replacement. When the original is still readable, this is often the cleanest route to replacing a damaged module while preserving the vehicle-specific information needed for operation.

Why DMEs fail

  • Water intrusion or flooding
  • Internal component failure
  • Fire or electrical damage
  • Incorrect programming or coding
  • Other hardware or software failures

Supported families

Our existing service history covers a broad range of Bosch, Siemens and Continental BMW DMEs/DDEs, including many ME/MEV/MEVD, MED, EDC, MS/MSD/MSV and MSS families. If your exact module is not listed or is newer, send the label before assuming it is unsupported.

Cloning requires a compatible donor. Part-number similarity alone is not always enough; hardware and software family must be checked.

When cloning is not the right path

If the original DME is completely unreadable, the better solution may be replacement-module programming and security matching to CAS, FEM or BDC. We offer that as a separate service.
